Tallai
Australian Labradoodle & Puppy of the Year
OK! A
Competition, I
know it's a little bit silly but Hey Why Not :)
Life is short !
My daughter thinks its the greatest
idea we have ever had, my hubby thinks we're mad (but before you comment
! Don't
forget Jamie & I are the judges..... So as most of you have been out at
Puppy and Dog Training courses during the year, I feel we should acknowledge all the hard work
that has been going on and make a fuss of our cleverest puppies/dogs and of
course their trainers :) If you have a Labradoodle that was born at Tallai
or has been/still
is part of the our breeding program, Please Enter :) you could end up being
the proud owners of a little Trophy and of course all the Glory & Honour
that goes with it :)

Jed da
Tallai Labradoodle of the Year 2005
Jedda's Litter of 10 Puppies
My dog Jedda is the best dog in
the world because, when I get sick or am stiff and sore (which is
often) she has some sort of ESP because when I feel well she is a
very active, happy and playful dog but when I am sick she is
completely different such as she is very quiet, attentive, will
never my side and will not let anyone near me. She is a great guard
dog for when I am home on my own, she knows way before me when there
is someone outside the house. She is infatuated with me, she loves to
chew my clothes and everything I touch and own ( shame she's not a
single 22 year old male), as well as the contents of the kitchen
rubbish bin to which she neglects to clean up after herself. She
loves Christmas as she has learnt to unwrap hers and other members
of The families presents which could come in handy one day for when
I can not open them for my self. In conclusion even though I have
not had Jedda long she is still very in tune with my family and has
settled in very well.

Miss
Molie Moppet
Hello I am Miss Molie Moppet,
otherwise known at Molie Mop! I am a 3 year old cafe labradoodle. I
have decided to enter the Tallai Labradoodle of the year competition
because I keep over hearing my owners say "Miss Molie your the
smartest, sweetest, most beautiful, dog EVER! "So even if I don't'
win officially, I know to my family I will always be THE BEST EVER!
I am very calm and sensible, ( I think it comes with age) and I
pride myself on being trustworthy, reliable and protective of my
family...Here is my beautiful baby Tallai Isabella, who I now share
all the limelight with at home. Let me tell you, she is some stiff
competition always happy and playful, wagging her tail at every
moment, it's a wonder I even get noticed now days! Not that I mind
in the least, I'm so proud of all 7 of my little ones. I hear
through the grapevine, that they are learning so quickly to be
valuable members of their respective families.
This
is my favourite pastime, just relaxing with the family out on
the water. It's such a great way to spend the day, unwinding from
the stress of raising a young playful pup! As you can see I sit up
front, keeping my eye on things - just in case! My humans say I've
become "such a mum!"
So even though I'm sensible and
now oh so mature, I still find the energy when needed to play with
the family...If you promise you won't laugh, and I'll include this
photo of me in the garden playing circus dog! My young human Kris
"bless him" wanted to teach Bella and I some agility. Well after
watching Bella run under the pole over and over again, I thought I
better jump in - excuse the pun - and keep the peace, showing the
little one what to do ! Well I think I've babbled on long enough - I
better go and check on things, make sure Bella has been behaving
herself -
Till next time Take care Molie Mop xxx |

MERLIN
Dear All, Well, our little Sam
(Merlin), may be still be young, playful and sometimes naughty, but
is he definitely strong and powerful! We didn’t realize the extent
of this power, until a recent storm, where Tweed Heads was subject
to flash flooding. The three of us were sitting on the verandah
watching and enjoying the storm (Unlike most dogs who get a little
scared of the loud cracks of thunder, Sammy get rather excitable)..
That was until we heard, in between the cracks of thunder, a small
child screaming…
We put Sammy on the
leash and went running down the road, fighting the wind and the
rain, in the direction of the cries for help. We came to the end
of the street and in the distance saw a small children who had been
swept into the rising creek, they were holding onto a fallen tree,
clinging on for there lives. We started to panic, unsure what to
do.. and that’s when little Sammy fled from our grip, and dove into
the water… we take Sammy on many trips to the beach, and he loves
swimming in the surf and riding the waves, but we had know idea that
he was such a strong swimmer and capable of swimming through
treacherous flood waters like he did. He swam through the rising
waters, fighting the current with ease and courage, until he reached
the small child. The child released his grip of the fallen tree and
held tightly onto Sammy. Sammy then safely returned the little boy
to the other side of the creek, where they both collapsed in
exhaustion and relief.. Thankful that there lives had been saved.
As
we look at Sammy now, curled up under his dad’s desk at work,
cuddling his little ducky, we still find it hard to believe a puppy,
only 5 months old, had that much bravery and strength to save a
young life. Not once did he think of his own life, only that of the
poor little boy and his screams of help.
He may never (and
hopefully never) be put in that position again, so now, we will just
have to marvel at how cute he is and how wonderfully he can shake
hands, sit, stay and drop… at such a young age, and keep rewarding
him with his liver treats and bones… (which he will find much easier
to eat once he grows his canine teeth!).
Kind Regards,
Jason, Lauren & 'The little fire man' Sam.
P.S. He is now an
official mascot for the Tweed Heads Fire and Rescue Department.
P.P.S This storey
is based loosely around facts - i.e. that Sam jumped around and
played with a small child at the beach when the tide was coming in.
(but he is great at his training lessons!) |

ISABELLA
To Carla & Jamie, I would like to
nominate Tallai Isabella as the Tallai puppy of the year!
Isabella, or smelly belly, as we like to call her, is the cutest,
sweetest most special bundle of trouble we have known. Her special
talents include:

1
The
Number one poser -Bella looks so cute sitting on the back seat of
the car, and/or boat
2 The Number one retriever
-Bella is always ready to play chase with her mother Molie - (Molie
after
the ball or Frisbee, and Isabella usually after Molie.)
3
The Number one actress - Bella always manages to act oh so innocent
- even after bringing half
the garden with her back into the house - it wasn't me - really!
4
The Number one lap dog No-one has had the heart to tell Bella she is
getting too big to be a lap dog!
5 The Number one happy girl
-Bella is always wagging her tail at every opportunity, sometimes
even in her sleep!
Thanks for the opportunity to
brag about our beautiful girl Isabella
Looking forward to reading some of the others stories.
Cheers Kristi |
