When I was Vice President of the Australian Labradoodle Association (ALA) my primary role was to help new and old breeders alike.  So this....my Breeders Resources page was created!     I will continue to gather information here that has been useful to me and my fellow breeders so far.  If you have any questions concerning breeding or the breed in general that is not already included here and I will endeavour to answer them or at least point you in the right direction☺

Australian Labradoodle Coat Colours
It is also with great excitement that I share with you my theories on colour genetics.  A how to work out your dogs and even
your future puppies colours!!!! All the colours are covered with puppy & adult photo examples. I have had help form articles found on the Web, other breeders (and many many sleepless nights :) I ask you all to help me prove or disprove my theories so far :) I feel that if colour is easily achieved by breeders, more time will be spent focusing on other important areas of the breed's development.

HIP & ELBOW Dysplasia.
The Labradoodle Breed Average for Hips as at the 18th March 2006 is "12.22"
There are two ways of testing dogs for Hips/Elbows, Scoring from X-rays or Pen Hip (Ask you Vet if there is a centre in your state if you'd rather use Pen Hip) Both Schemes are excepted by the ALA as long as dogs are over 1 year old. Most vets can take the x-rays, you will need to get a copy of the scoring/grading form before you visit the vet (email me) X-rays and the form are then sent to Perth with a small fee :) to "Australasian Veterinary Radiology Service" for grading under the BVA Scheme. There are a few other grading places available in Aus. The Perth office is mostly used by Labradoodle Breeders as it is nice to be able to compare scores between dogs (All Perth scores are scored by the same person :)

BRITISH VETERINARY ASSOCIATION. Web has BVA averages lists of pure breeds of dogs scores and other info.
